National Treasures' AGM 2017

National Treasures’ second Annual General Meeting was held on Thursday 16th November 2017 at Frenches House. (The organisation has been established for three years as of 10th November 2017.) The AGM is used by National Treasures as an opportunity to report publicly on the work of the organisation and on the stewardship of its Board. The meeting began at 4.30pm with members, supporters, well-wishers and dignitaries present.

The Agenda for the AGM deal with in Part One, reports on the work done in 2016 and to date in 2017. (A copy of the report can be secured from the organisation by email). In summary, ongoing projects such as Treasure Trove/Treasured Memories- stories and recollections from older Vincentians are being recorded; Kingstown Heritage Walks involve documentation of the history and heritage of several areas, buildings and sites of significance in Kingstown and in the future locals and tourists alike will be able to go on the walks; and the collection of Proverbs, Sayings and Idioms is also being done. The website was previewed during Part Two of the AGM with excerpts from the site being shown on a big screen and comments, questions and suggestions were welcomed by the members of the Board of National Treasures. Maxin Browne who designed and is building the site was on hand to answer any technical questions.

The AGM was followed by a social where local food and drinks were on offer with some classic calypso playing in the background. The discussions sparked by the presentations and work of National Treasures in the AGM continued during the social.
